Secret of the perfect smile
Behind every perfect smile lies a well aligned denture, which gives a self-confident and healthy appearance.
Our goal is to create a symmetrical, well aligned and well occluding dentition, taken in consideration the person’s own possibilities.
It is not only about esthetics, good occlusion also means even mastication, easier brushing and that results in less cavities and less tartar. With crooked teeth it’s easier to chip the incisors or suffer other traumatic injuries. So to conclude, the more even the teeth, the longer we can enjoy them.
Orthodontics in childhood
At the age of 6 or 7 it’s advisable to take our child to a specialist and discuss the possible need for orthodontic treatment. At this age it’s easy to influence the growth of the permanent teeth or even the jawbones. It also contributes to a healthier attitude towards oral hygiene. If started at a young age in mixed dentition, we can avoid surgeries later on in adolescence. We can start by not letting small children suck on their thumbs or pacifiers as soon as they become 4-5 years old.
Orthodontics in adulthood
There is no upper age limit for orthodontic treatment. It surely pays off to let our teeth get straightened, so the load they get to withhold is distributed evenly and overload is avoided. Nevertheless we get a natural and lovely smile.
